Today I went to the 160th edition of Comic World in Seoul. Although not much was different from last time I reported on it, I got some new items. Please check out my video for a look at my day, and see detailed pictures of my haul below!
anime in seoul
Today I had the pleasure of checking out the collaboration cafe for Fate/Apocrypha. I am a huge fan of the Fate universe so I was so excited to hear the news this would be open! Seoul is having a Fate overload these days, and I don’t mind one bit!
The event will be taking place from September 20th to October 17th in Hapjeong, details at the bottom of the post.
The cafe space in the Aniplus store is decorated top to bottom in the characters for both teams of Fate/Apocrypha, with main emphasis on Jeanne D’Arc. The walls are decorated, the tables are decorated, everything is decorated! This time there was no screen, but they were playing the show’s soundtrack in the background.
As it is to be expected from an official animate cafe, the prices are steep, but the menu is much more creative than the past Love Live!! Cafe. Items include Espresso, parfaits, sandwiches and cakes. I got “Shiro’s Tea Set” because and it is surprisingly tasty! According to the description it has Wildberry, Earl Grey, Raspberry, and a special chocolate! It cost 6,000 won.
Every Drink purchase gets you a special coaster with all characters of both the red team and the black team. There are two secret coasters and you get them randomly!
In collaboration with the cafe, Aniplus has special edition Fate/Apocrypha goods like keychains, acrylic stands, and even a game of cards! Prices are…hefty.
Although the price might be heavily inflated, I am a huge fan of these cafes. I truly love Fate so it is nice to get to enjoy the atmosphere and get a special treat after buying a drink!
Event time: September 20th – October 17th
Opening Hours: 10am to 10pm
Location: Aniplus Store in Hapjeong Station
