Last monday I had the chance to attend Fate/Zero dining, a private dining experience inspired by the anime. The event is inspired by the “Dining Time” events in Japan, which create a menu based on different anime.
In order to get a spot in the event you have to join a lottery, and thankfully I got it! The next round of lottery will be happening on October 27th, so make sure to check out the details at the bottom to see how to join.
The experience has 4 courses: A starter, side dish, main dish, and dessert. You also get one “Saber” drink, and you are able to get as many other drinks as you want. The drinks are also inspired by characters. With every drink, you get another chance to draw a prize, which include postcards, stickers, posters, and more!
Everyone also gets a random placemat with original art from the show.
I will now introduce each dish and rate it!
Starter – Warm Vegetable Salad
This was absolutely delicious! They had so many vegetables I don’t usually eat becase I’m not too sure of how to prepare them well, like lotus root. To be honest, I was incredibly surprised by the size! It seemed like a complete meal in itself.
Side Dish – Pork
This was also delicious and also a very generous portion for a side dish. It also had quail eggs which are MY ABSOLUTE OBSESSION. I did think overall it was a little bit salty.
Main dish – Spinach pasta with cream sauce
I am not sure how to feel about this. The pasta had a texture of being freshly made so that is really cool, but the sauce was…really weird? The menu doesn’t really indicate what kind of sauce it is but it was kind of gelatinous and weird. I would not eat this one again.
Dessert – Cheesecake and Chocolate cake
Very korean style cake, so super light and fluffy. I enjoyed it, nothing much to say!
Drinks – Saber and Emiya Kiritsugu
The Saber drink had blue curaçao and pineapple juice, which surprised me cause they had alcoholic options! It was absolutely delicious. The emiya drink was literally just milk with coffee, but it hit the spot.
The overall experience of the event was excellent. I cannot stress enough how amicable and kind the staff is, and how comfortable they made every guest feel.
I thoroughly recommend you come check this special event out, it’s so worth it if you are a fan of the Fate series. Check out the details of how to apply below:
