An afternoon at the Ufotable Cafe

An afternoon at the Ufotable Cafe

After a long break from hobbykr (I’m sorry!!!) I finally went to the ufotable cafe. I had been wanting to go to this so bad, especially because their current collaborations are only on for a few more days.

Until October 24th, the cafe’s theme is Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family and Fate/Zero, so basically, the best Fate franchises.

The cafe has a bit of mystery. There is not much info or images online so I was very curious to see how the café would look inside. I was very surprised to see that it had a very high-end look compared to other anime cafés, but I suppose it’s because this is a permanent café and not only a temporary one like most others. When you enter each seat has a different character assigned to it, and if there’s not a lot of people you can choose which character you want. I chose Lancer from Zero. The cafe is playing music from Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family and they also have a projector that is showing episodes and interviews with the voice actors.

The menu has different dishes inspired by each of the shows. Fate/Zero definitely has more dishes than the other and I was very surprised to see the prices are definitely from  a higher-end restaurant. The prices for the drinks were normal for an anime café but the prices  the food was definitely way higher than I expected I got carbonara and it was 20,000 won. I also got a chocolate drink inspired by Iskander from Zero and it was good enough for 6,000 won. When the dish came out I was incredibly surprised because it’s the first time I’ve seen a restaurant in Korea make real carbonara with just eggs instead of the usual carbonara in Korea which is only cream pasta. This meet me feel a little bit better about spending so much money on one dish.

When you buy a meal you get a limited edition placemat and when you buy a drink you get a limited edition coaster. The taste of the food was pretty good, the egg was a little bit overcooked so it turned more into scrambled egg pasta carbonara but the taste was there and I definitely appreciated it.

There’s also a section of goods updated whenever there’s a new episode of today’s menu. You can buy a acrylic stands, keychains, notebooks and others. They also have a very very cute folder for your placemat. I got two because all the designs were so cute.

You can also get a points card for 3000 won. I had a very hard time choosing between Sin and Lancer but in the end I chose Rin. Overall I was very satisfied with my visit and I’m very glad I made it. Is it a money grab? yes. Will I continue to come? Hell yes. I love Fate so much I can’t get enough of this.

Thanks for sharing this info ! We’ll definitely check this place, I’m so hyped ! Do you know at which frequence does the theme changes ? I’m really curious about the possible future events, especially if there’s a Kara no Kyoukai theme in this cafe !

Hello! Definitely check it out! The collabs usually last around 1 month. I think there is definitely a possibility for a KnK collaboration, although I think the next one might be fate again! Make sure to follow us because we will update when the next collaboration change happens ^^.
